Libertarian Views Regulations as ExcessiveFrom a representative of LPCO presenting Libertarian Party beliefs, explaining libertarian views on the subject. The application of the philosophy as expressed by the Libertarian Party or others may or may not universally represent what is a libertarian view on the topic for all adherents.
Westminster CO: There are so many regulations even the regulators don't know them all! The fear is palpable when you receive a notice for an audit or an inspection and for good reason. The many intricate details, real or misinterpreted, can have a devastating impact on your business. Complying can be costly or cause you to close your doors. Penalties and fines can break you. Having a strategy in advance is essential for your survival. We must hold regulators accountable if we hope to achieve anything closer to a free market in which business owners do not have to ask permission every time they want to make a change. Susan Kochevar will
demonstrate how to fight back through her personal stories of dealing with overreaching regulators.
A Colorado native, Kochevar grew up in Commerce City and graduated from Adams City High School. She graduated from the University of Denver with a degree in Communications and is also a 2013 graduate of Leadership Program of the Rockies. She is the chair of the Colorado Republican Business Coalition, which advocates for small business by giving them a voice at the Capitol. Kochevar’s first job was at a drive-in theatre her parents bought in 1976. When her parents retired, she took over the family business and has been running the theatre for the last 20 years. She enjoys keeping a part of American history alive. Kochevar decided to run for office after a tough battle with Commerce City to keep the drive-in open. She ran for State House
representative in 2014 and 2016, coming very close to winning both times. Ultimately the city backed down entirely, and she saved the family business. Kochevar is passionate about sharing her lessons learned with other small business people.
